Biography
Celeya earned her Bachelor's of Music from the University of Maryland and her Masters in Violin Performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, under the tutelage of renowned pedagogue Elizabeth Chang, There, she received a string quartet fellowship, performing four chamber music recitals and playing in masterclasses for members of the Cleveland Quartet, Ying Quartet, and Dover Quartet as well as many others. She also attended numerous summer chamber music festivals, including Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, and Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music. Ms. Kirchner also enjoys orchestral playing, serving as Principal 2nd Violin with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Opera Society, as well as participating in the National Orchestral Institute and Festival. Since returning to the DC area, Celaya has been taking the chamber music scene by storm, playing in a number of renowned ensembles and founding her own concert series with M Institute cellist, Emma J. In January 2019, she formed the Milo Trio, which plays regularly in the D.C. metro area, performing works from every period of music, but focusing on performing works by women and people of color.
