Biography
Violin/Viola: Ages 4 to Adult Beginner to Advanced Professional
BA, The Juilliard School
Luke W. holds a deep reverence for the individuality of a student’s needs, perceptions, and talents, which allows him to create a unique plan to help each student achieve their goals. Luke borrows pedagogical methods from many of his teachers. He studied violin at the Juilliard School with Catherine Cho and at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music with Carolyn Huebl. During his young career, he also had the opportunity to study at music festivals with Noah Bendix-Balgley, Paul Kantor, and David Halen, among others.
Luke has actively performed with many orchestras throughout the United States, including the Nashville Symphony, Orchestra Iowa, The Rhode Island Philharmonic, and The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Having a unique intuition and sense of leadership, he won the role of concertmaster for Orchestra Iowa in 2013, making him one of the youngest professional concertmasters among the nation’s symphony orchestras.
More recently, Luke has focused on administrative roles serving as Orchestra Personnel Manager of the Jacksonville and North Carolina Symphonies. He currently enjoys working with students with a variety of pursuits and goals at a Public Charter School.
