Biography
Guitarist, Conductor Robert T. has toured extensively, nationally and internationally. He has been a fixture as a guitarist on the recording studio scene in New York and Chicago and has performed in the original Broadway productions of The Lion King, Les Miserables, Evita, The Who’s Tommy, Barnum, and Bob Fosse’s Dancin.’ As leader of the Rob Tomaro Quartet, he has appeared in concert with artists such as Charles Mingus, Stephane Grapelli and Bill Evans. He was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2014 and 2015 as producer and composer for Rock artist Susan Aquila.
He holds a Master of Arts Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Music Composition from New York University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Theater from Northwestern University and has served on the faculties of St. John’s University, Rutgers University and Beloit College.
As a symphonic conductor, his engagements include concerts and recordings with The London Symphony, The Slovak Radio Orchestra, The Silesian Philharmonic of Poland, the Moravian Philharmonic of the Czech Republic, the Black Sea Philharmonic of Romania, the Krakow Sinfonietta, the Rockford Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Lima Symphony of Ohio, the Fairbanks Symphony, the Powder River Symphony of Wyoming, and the Santa Cruz County Symphony.
He currently serves as Music Director of the Beloit Janesville Symphony and Pops Conductor of the Racine Symphony in Wisconsin.
