Missy Curl Joins Faculty



Voice teacher Laura "Missy" Curl joins M Institute for the Arts in Washington, DC with an extensive background in vocal performance. Missy's experience with voice, especially opera and choral performance, will offer students unique perspectives and insight.

Having obtained a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies from the University of Maryland, Missy is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Musicology at Catholic University. As an undergraduate student, Missy represented the voice studio in the University of Maryland's School of Music Honors Recital. Furthermore, she has performed opera scenes with the Crittenden Opera Studio and Washington National Opera Institute for Young Singers.

At Catholic University, Missy manages the Chamber Choir. In the past, she has been featured as a soloist with the National Philharmonic Summer Chorale Institute and has performed in the Kennedy Center, Strathmore, Meyerhoff, and Carnegie Hall. She is also a choral scholar at the Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, under musical director Blake Clark.
