Elena Haramalis is a classical violinist from Moldova who holds a BA in Music from The Academy of Music and Theater and Arts in Chisinau. Elena has over 10 years of experience working with Symphony and Opera and Ballet companies. Her recent engagements have included “Night of Viennese Waltz” (The Musikverein, Vienna) and Bizet’s “Carmen” (Albert Hall, London). She was a solo performer in various concerts, including a performance at the National Sarajevo Symphony Hall, (Sarajevo, Bosnia), a Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E Major with Julio Maric. Elena studied under the renowned violin teacher Ms. Esfir Caplun. Ms. Caplun was a student of the eminent Russian violin teacher Abram Yampolsky, and her peer students included Leonid Kogan and Igor Bezrodny, two of the world’s most famous violinists of the 20th century. Elena also studied violin under the prominent violinist Yuri Korchinsky, who was one of the favorite students of the great violinist David Oistrakh. Elena teaches all levels of violin, and her specialty is classical violin. She tailors her teaching strategy and communication methods to each individual student, showing a clear understanding and awareness of how to positively engage and connect with the unique inner world of each student. Elena gives her students confidence in their capabilities by structuring the learning process step by step. She breaks every area into the steps appropriate to each student, and provides ways to measure achievement and progress. Elena makes the lessons enjoyable and knows how to praise and reinforce success that encourages the student to excel in all areas.
