[Email Me] Susanna Barasch is an American soprano whose recent engagements have included Puccini's Suor Angelica (Miami Lyric Opera, Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, Miami); Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea (New York Lyric Opera, Symphony Space, NYC), Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (New York Lyric Opera, DiMenna Center for Classical Music, NYC), Mozart's Don Giovanni (New York Lyric Opera, Lincoln Center, NYC); and Sousa's The Charlatan (Victorian Lyric Opera, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater, Maryland). Upcoming roles include Juliette (Romeo et Juliette, Lincoln Center) and Constance in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites (La Musica Lirica, Il Teatro di Novafeltria, Italy).

Teaching all levels of singing, Ms. Barasch's specialty is classical and operatic voice. Holding a BA of Music from The George Washington University, she has studied under renowned Romanian soprano, Virginia Zeani, Met Opera baritone Mark Oswald, and internationally acclaimed bel canto pedagogue Joan Patenaude-Yarnell. She is also a disciple of Bulgarian piano virtuoso Tzvetan Konstantinov. Ms. Barasch serves on the board of the The International Master Institute of Music "Leopold Godowsky", Inc.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Ms. Barasch has a substantial background in fundraising and events. She worked with the American Heart Association on their annual Palm Beach Heart Ball for three consecutive years at The Mar-a-Lago Club, raising over one million dollars each year. She also chaired and directed the Junior League's first annual Junior League Day at Polo at the International Polo Club for the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, for which she won the Fundraiser of the Year award. Ms. Barasch then served as the Executive Director for a political party of Palm Beach County, running or contributing to many fundraisers, auctions, rallies, and outreach events, including events at The Mar-a-Lago Club and The Beach Club. She has also enjoyed sitting on numerous charitable committees, including the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, Young Friends of the Norton Museum of Art, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Ms. Barasch now serves as President/CEO of the M Institute for the Arts here in Washington, DC and as a board member of the The International Master Institute of Music "Leopold Godowsky" in McLean, VA. She currently resides in Georgetown.
